Sure, we're mocked, erased, ignored, and discarded, but guess what? We had the Nineties, and a lot of us also had the Eighties.
We had the bloodiest pits, the craziest raves, the shoe-iest gazers, the gnarliest grungesters, the cutest manic pixie dream girls.
WE HAD THE FRIGGIN' X-FILES, BITCHES.
So we win and motherf**kers lose.
Outstanding list of tracks, Chris! So many classic ones. I had the privilege of seeing The Sundays at one of their last concerts before they disbanded in 1997. I especially love their first two records. That Stereolab song, "Pack Yr Romantic Mind" is a personal favorite; pure "Space Age Bachelor Pad" bliss. And I see you chose two tracks from My Bloody Valentine's '91 masterpiece, Loveless. Man, what an album, STILL, after 32 years!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, while I'm here, thanks for a great podcast the other day on "Rosemary's Baby" - definitely a classic film with definitely disturbing overtones indeed, diegetically and behind the scenes. I arrived late so I watched it all that evening. Cheers!
